Description
Teknos Antistain Aqua 2901 is a waterborne microporous primer for new timber that is formulated to reduce the migration of tannin of exotic timbers such as Sapele, Red Grandis, Meranti and Idigbo just to name a few. Antistain 2901 works by pulling the water soluble tannin, extractives into the primer coat and holding them in, which prevent migration through to the finish coat.
Teknos Antistain primer offers best results through spray application where the coating is a more measured application typically wet film between 120 – 200µ. Small areas can be brush applied but generally you may require more brush applications to achieve best results.
Teknos Antistain Aqua 2901 has been specially accredited by Accoya® as a product and brand that works well with this timber after both companies conducted many hours of testing. The Teknos coating systems enhance the life expectancy of well designed joinery and extend the periods between painting maintenance.
We do recommend the use of a white knotting primer on soft wood species where knots are present. Neither the primer or knotting will prevent resin exudation from live knots.
