Description
Blackfriar Professional Anti Slip Floor Paint is ideal for light industrial and domestic traffic. This product contains a special aggregate producing superior slip resistance, and outstanding wear and performance.
Ensure the surface to be painted is sound, clean, dry and free from grease and any substance liable to give adhesion issues. Remove any old loose or flaking material prior to application. If the floor is a new concrete or screed it is recommended to allow the floor to dry for up to 6 months prior to painting due to moisture which may still be trapped in the concrete.
Once painted we recommend while the paint dries it can be walked on after around 16 – 24 hours. We would not recommend driving a car upon it for approximately 10-14 days, as this is the length of time it takes for the coating (indeed any floor paint) to Fully Cure and bond giving the maximum protection.
Preparation
Ensure the surface to be painted is sound, clean, dry and free from grease or any substance liable to give adhesion problems. Scrape off any old or flaking paint until you have a firm surface. Special attention should be given to areas under cars to ensure all oil, grease, dirt and road salt is removed. New concrete must be left for at least 6 months before applying Blackfriar Professional Anti-Slip Floor Paint.
Application
Stir thoroughly before use. Apply with a brush or roller working the paint in any surface imperfections. On bare or new surfaces first apply Blackfriar Professional Solvent Based Floor Sealer followed by 1-2 coats of Blackfriar Professional Anti- Slip Floor Paint. On previously painted surfaces apply 1-2 coats as required. Blackfriar Professional Anti-Slip Floor Paint is not suitable for use over PVC, thermoplastic tiles, quarry tiles, asphalt floors or granolithic concrete. Do not apply it on concrete surfaces treated with alkali containing liquids, areas subjected to rising damp or areas treated with PVA bonding solutions.
If concrete floors are very smooth then pre-treat with Blackfriar Professional Acid Etch followed by Blackfriar Professional Solvent Based Floor Sealer prior to applying 1-2 coats of Blackfriar Professional Anti-Slip Floor Paint. Surfaces are slippery when wet. To ensure slip resistance the floor must be kept dry when in use. The use of protective mats will help preserve the surface under tyres
