Wax finishes are often used on internal timber items doors, skirtings, balustrades and often furniture in particular pine furniture which was often waxed. Wax offers an alternative to varnishes and modern lacquers giving the item a softer tone, with a more mellow finish. Waxes don’t offer as durable a finish as varnish and lacquer but the aesthetic is often more pleasing. Waxes such as Fiddes, Briwax or Liberon are often coloured and on to bare timber
are a quick and economical way of finishing a piece while adding nice rustic tones. We also supply natural Beeswax polishes to maintain modern furniture. Paint Monster has a strong affinity with wood finishes in particular many traditional methods.
