Blackfriar Metallic Paint Gold – Water Based | All Sizes

Description

Blackfriar Metallic Paint Gold provides a bright metallic finish for decorating and gilding ornamental plasterwork, wood, metal railings, picture frames, models, fleur-de-lis, memorabilia & furniture.

Preparation

• Ensure surface to be coated is clean, dry, sound and free from wax, grease or any other contamination.
• Previously painted surfaces in sound condition should be abraded and degreased prior to application of Blackfriar Metallic Paint.
• Bare or new surfaces should be primed with the appropriate Blackfriar Primer.

Application

• Stir thoroughly prior to use with a broad stirrer.
• The product may be applied by using a soft brush, short pile roller or spray.
• Apply the paint as evenly as possible to maintain an overall consistent finish.
• Like all metallic paints the most uniform finish is achieved by spraying.
• Application marks can be left in the film when brushing and rollering. Do not overwork the wet paint film when brushing or rollering.
• Thinning – Maximum 10% water.
• Coverage Rate: Up to 14 square metres per litre per coat.
• Drying Time: Touch dry in 1 hour. Recoat after 4 hours.
• Drying times are based on an ambient temperature of 20°C and 50% relative humidity. Lower temperatures or higher humidity will prolong the drying and overcoating times.

Limitations

Do not use under cold (less than 10°C), damp or humid conditions.

Surfaces subject to high wear (eg. handrails) or high humidity (eg. kitchen or bathroom) can cause the metallic finish to prematurely tarnish. It is advisable under these conditions to overcoat the Metallic Paint with Blackfriar Quick Drying Clear Varnish.

Clean Up

• Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before washing with water.
• Do not empty into drains or water courses. Some local authorities have special facilities for the disposal of waste coatings.

Storage

• Store in a dry, safe place.
• Do not store in environments where extreme temperatures may occur.
• Keep within 5-30°C.
• Do not store in direct sunlight.
