Description
Blackfriar Problem Solving Primer is a multi-purpose primer formulated to cover a whole range of surfaces and surface problems. It seals difficult stains caused by water or mould and provides excellent adhesion to a range of surfaces. For use under most finishes including emulsion, gloss, and lightweight wallpapers.
Effectively covers most stains including:
- Nicotine
- Water
- Adhesive residues
- Soot
- Wood tannins
Works on a variety of surfaces, such as:
- Ceramic tiles
- Most plastics
- MDF
- Wood
Preparation
Ensure surface to be coated is clean, dry, sound and free from wax, grease or any other contamination.
Application
- Stir Blackfriar Problem Solving Primer thoroughly prior to use with a broad stirrer.
- The product may be applied by brush, roller or spray.
- Apply one or two coats as required.
- Thinning is not recommended.
- Coverage – Up to 10 square metres per litre per coat.
- Drying Time – Touch dry in 1 – 2 hours. Recoat after 4 hours. Drying times are based on an ambient temperature of 20°C and 50% relative humidity. Lower temperatures or higher humidity will prolong the drying and overcoating times.
Limitations
- Do not use Blackfriar Problem Solving Primer under cold (less than 10°C), damp or humid conditions.
- Do not apply to damp or wet surfaces.
- Do not cross contaminate with other water based coatings – use clean, dry brushes and application equipment.
- If used as a stain blocker the surface must be completely dry.
- For heavy staining more than one coat may be required.
- Take care if tinting – do not tint with other types of water-based paint, even some universal colourants may not be compatible – a test sample is advised.
Clean Up
- Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before washing with water.
- Do not empty into drains or water courses. Some local authorities have special facilities for the disposal of waste coatings.
Storage
- Store Blackfriar Problem Solving Primer in a dry, safe place.
- Do not store in environments where extreme temperatures may occur.
- Keep within 5-30°C.
- Do not store in direct sunlight.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Read label before use.
- If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand.
- Dispose of contents and container in accordance with all local, regional, national and international regulations.
- May produce an allergic reaction.
