Blackfriar Solvent Based Floor Sealer – Clear 5lt

Description

Blackfriar Solvent Based Floor Sealer . A clear, alkyd sealer for use on porous surfaces underneath solvent and alkyd paints, as well as Blackfriar’s Anti-Slip Floor Paint and Polyurethane Floor Paint. Can also be used on porous brickwork underneath Blackfriar Anti-Climb Paint.

It aids by penetrating deep into the substrate binding and sealing porous surfaces for over coating thus leaving you requiring less of the following paint finish. Easy and safe application with brush or roller and dry to re-apply in around 4 hours meaning you can complete a job within a day.

Concrete surfaces less than 6 months old: We recommend that new concrete surfaces should be left for around 6 months before painting to allow the salts and efflorescence to dry out of the concrete.

Preparation

• Surfaces should preferably be as dry as possible.
• Ensure the surface to be painted is sound, clean, dry and free from grease or any substance liable to give adhesion problems.
• Scrape off any old or flaking paint until you have a firm surface.
• Special attention should be given to areas under cars to ensure all oil, grease, dirt and road salt is removed.
• New concrete must be left for at least 6 months before applying Blackfriar Solvent Based Floor Sealer.

Application

• Stir thoroughly before use.
• Apply with a brush or roller working the paint in any surface imperfections.
• Blackfriar Solvent Based Floor Sealer is not suitable for use over non porous substrates like PVC, thermoplastic
  tiles, quarry tiles, asphalt floors or granolithic concrete.
• Do not apply it on concrete surfaces treated with alkali containing liquids, areas subjected to rising damp or areas
  treated with PVA bonding solutions.
• Do not apply in cold (below 10°C), damp or humid conditions.
• If concrete floors are very smooth then pre-treat with Blackfriar Professional Acid Etch followed after thorough rinsing by Blackfriar Solvent Based Floor Sealer.
• Coverage Rate: 10-15 square metres per litre per coat.
• Drying Time: 16 hours at 20°C. Allow to dry for a minimum of 16 hours at 20°C between coats. Full cure is achieved in 5-7 days at 20°C.

Clean Up

• Remove as much product from application equipment as possible before washing with white spirits.
• Do not empty into drains or watercourses. Some local authorities have special facilities for the disposal of waste coatings.
• Whilst every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of colour, due to limitations of the print process, colour/finish shown is for guidance only.
