Description

Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Primer Undercoat is a water-based primer undercoat perfect for both interior and exterior joinery and prepared metalwork. With fantastic coverage and quick drying properties this Primer Undercoat has been specially formulated, for use with Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Gloss, to achieve a smooth gloss finish.

Preparation

• Ensure the surface is sound, clean, dry and free from any possible contaminates such as algae, grease, dirt, and dust.
• For new or burnt-off woodwork, rub down the surface with glass paper to a smooth finish and treat any knots and resinous parts with knotting solution.
• Previously painted surfaces should be thoroughly washed and abraded to provide a key, rinse with clean water and allow to dry.

Application

• Stir well before use.
• Apply by brush (a good quality synthetic brush gives best results) or roller (good quality micro fibre medium pile roller will give best
  results) to achieve an even thickness.
• To assist application on porous substrates the surface may be dampened slightly.
• Maintain a wet edge.
• On timber lay off in the direction of the grain.
• Avoid excessive de-nibbing in-between coats.
• For airless spray dilution may be required. For further information follow the spray manufacturer’s guidelines.
• Always intermix packs for colour consistency. Please check for colour accuracy prior to application.

Safety

• Take special precautions during the surface preparation of pre 1960’s painted surfaces as they may contain harmful lead.
• When preparing all surfaces avoid the inhalation of dust and/or metal particles. Wear a suitable facemask.
•  Store in secure dry conditions between 5°C and 40°C and inaccessible to children or animals.
• Containers should be kept closed during storage.
• Do not empty into drains, watercourses or access routes to septic tanks.
