Description
Crown Trade Full Undercoat is a popular, high quality undercoat designed for use over primed joinery and metal in both interior and exterior settings. Full Undercoat enjoys excellent obliteration, adhesion and opacity as well as good wet edge retention. The perfect basecoat for Crown Trade Full Gloss, which achieves maximum gloss hold out when overcoated. Easy to apply with roller or brush.
Preparation
- All surfaces must be suitably dry, and free from anything that will interfere with the adhesion of the materials to be applied.
- For MDF and timber: Prior to painting the moisture should not exceed 18%.
- For metals including galvanised: All surfaces must be suitably dry, and free from anything that will interfere with the adhesion of the materials to be applied. Remove all millscale and corrosion back to clean metal. Remove all residues. Wash with hot water and liquid detergent solution to remove oil, grease or any other contaminants, frequently changing the water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Allow to dry.

Application
- Stir well before use.
- Apply by brush or roller to an even thickness (a fine, soft long filament bristle brush gives best results).
- Maintain a wet edge.
- On timber lay off in the direction of the grain.

Recoatable Time: 16 hours

Spreading Rate: Up to 18m2/litre

Touch Dry: 4-6 hours. Allow for adequate ventilation during the drying period.
Limitations
Do not apply when air or substrate temperatures are likely to fall below 8°C or when the relative humidity is above 80% during application or the drying period.
Cleaning
Return surplus material to container. Clean with a proprietary cleaner immediately after use.

- Take special precautions during the surface preparation of pre 1960’s painted surfaces as they may contain harmful lead.
- When preparing all surfaces avoid the inhalation of dust and/or metal particles. Wear a suitable facemask.
- Store in secure dry conditions between 5°C and 40°C and inaccessible to children or animals.
- Containers should be kept closed during storage.
- Do not empty into drains, watercourses or access routes to septic tanks.
