Description
Leyland Trade Fast Drying Undercoat utilises advanced water bourne technology, delivering the application and performance qualities associated with traditional solvent based paint but with the added advantages of improved turnaround times enhanced profits, a non yellowing finish, easy clean up and reduced environmental impact suitable for interior or exterior use.
Preparation
- Ensure surface to be painted is sound, clean, dry and free from grease.
- Rub down bare timber surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper to remove raised grain and sharp edges.
- Apply Knotting Solution to knots and resinous surfaces.
- Rub down sound previously gloss painted surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper to provide a key. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding.
- Prime where required with the appropriate Leyland Primer.
- Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960’s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.
- Allow radiators to cool before painting.
Application
- Stir well before use.
- Apply by brush or roller.
- Apply liberally, brushing firmly into the surface.
- Treat all accessible timber, in particular the end grain.
- Allow 1-2 hours before applying a second coat if required.
- Conditions of low temperature or high humidity can prolong the drying time.
- Do not apply when air or surface temperature is below 10°C or externally when rain is imminent.
Cleaning
- Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before cleaning.
- Clean equipment immediately after use in warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
- Replace lid firmly.
- Some local authorities have special facilities for disposal of waste coatings. Do not empty product into drains or watercourses.
Warning
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
- Do not ingest.
