Leyland Trade Wood Primer Brilliant White – 5L

Description

Leyland Trade Wood Primer is a traditional oil based primer excellent for priming new bare wood internal or external it provides great adhesion and a good solid primer coat prior to application of Leyland Undercoat leading to a superior finish with added longevity.

Preparation

• Ensure surface to be painted is sound, clean, dry and free from grease.
• Rub down the bare timber surfaces with dry glasspaper to remove raised grain and sharp edges.
• Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding.
• Apply Knotting Solution to knots and resinous areas, and allow to dry thoroughly.
• Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.

Application

• Stir Leyland Trade Wood Primer well before use.
• Suitable for application by brush or roller.
• Apply liberally, working firmly into the surface and laying off in the line of the grain.
• Take care to treat all accessible timber particularly the end grain.
• Allow to dry thoroughly before applying the relevant undercoat and finishing paint.

Cleaning

• Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before cleaning.
• Clean equipment immediately after use with White Spirit or Turpentine Substitute.
• Some local authorities have special facilities for disposal of waste coatings. Do not empty product into drains or watercourses.
• Replace lid firmly.

Warning

• Flammable liquid and vapour.
• Contains 2-butanone oxime.
• May produce an allergic reaction.
• Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking.
• If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Dispose of contents/container to a waste disposal site in accordance with local/national regulations.
• Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing.
• IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.
• IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of water. Do not use solvent thinners or White Spirit.
• IF SWALLOWED: Call a POISON CENTRE or doctor if you feel unwell.
• Ensure maximum ventilation during application and drying.
• Not recommended for interior use on large surface areas, or in confined spaces.
• Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep cool.
