Description
Polyvine Decorators Varnish is a unique, clear acrylic varnish that uses nano-technology to protect a wide range of decorative surfaces – paintwork, wallpaper, fabric, wood and plaster work.
UV blocking and absorption reduce aging and deterioration of surfaces.
Available in gloss for a shiny finish, satin for depth and a soft sheen, dead flat for a completely shine free surface.
Preparation
Ensure the surface to be coated is clean and free from grease, wax or polish.
Application
- Gloss or Satin: Apply 2-3 coats.
- Dead flat: Apply 1-2 coats.
- Dilute 10% with water to prime porous surfaces.
- Apply via a good quality synthetic brush (recommended) or by conventional spray or High Volume Low-pressure spray.
- Rollers are not recommended, stippling may occur.
- Stir well.
- If cissing occurs, rub onto affected area with a damp cloth to break the surface tension and re-apply.
- Where a dead flat finish with a high degree of protection is required – apply gloss/satin and finish with a thin coat of dead flat.
Caution
- Always apply to a test area before starting work.
- Appearance may vary according to the colour and type of wood and the number of coats.
- Do not apply over uncured oil paints.
- Apply dead flat finish sparingly and brush out well, over application could result in misting.
- Test dead flat finish for misting over dark colours.
- Test dead flat finish on all wallpapers to ensure compatibility.
- When applied over emulsion/latex paint, it is possible that Polyvine Decorators Varnish can draw certain stains through the paint, which would not otherwise be visible.
- Do not apply over uncured oils.
