A Brief History of Purdy
Purdy made its first paintbrush by hand all the way back in 1925! From that day on, quality was everything. Purdy continued to thrive and grow throughout the 1930s by making brushes as premium as possible. Founder S. Desmond Purdy believed handcrafting was the only way to “build in” superior performance and to build a business. Word of mouth sparks continued business growth and national distribution begins by the mid-1960s. Purdy officially sell brushes and accessories coast to coast and in all 50 states from then on.
Innovation in the New Millennium
In 2008 premium prep-and-finish tools become a natural extension of the Purdy line up. Today’s Pros trust Purdy innovative surface prep tools to get any surface ready to paint or stain.
