Description
Teknos Futura Aqua 40 (40% Sheen) is an excellent high quality paint suitable for interior or exterior use on to wooden windows, doors, gates, and much more. The high opacity finish is also highly suited to painting kitchen cupboards and furniture. A unique tough durable formulation allows for easy application with good hold and a durable, lasting finish.
Teknos Futura Aqua 40 White & Black is a water-borne urethane alkyd based top coat designed with detached and fixed furniture in mind – both interior and exterior.
Indoors Teknos Futura Aqua 40 is suitable for a wide array of primed surfaces, including painted wood, metal and building board surfaces: doors, window casements, cabinets, mouldings, panels, panel ceilings, air ducts, staircase railings, radiators and piping systems. Teknos Futura Aqua 40 is also suitable for plaster and filler surfaces primed with Teknos Futura Aqua Primer, for example window sills and casings, and wall surfaces in special objects, e.g. staircases.
Outdoors Teknos Futura Aqua 40 is ideal for painting primed window casements, doors, garden furniture, and more.
Preparation
- Clean the surface to be painted and make sure it is free from any possible contaminants such as dust and dirt.
- Gently sand hard or gloss surfaces and remove any dust.
- Smooth out any irregularities in the surface.
- Teknos recommend using their Futura Aqua Primer to prime any wood and galvanised metal surfaces before applying the topcoat.
- Consider using anticorrosive paint to prepare and prime aluminium, copper, and any steel surfaces that contain some rust – Teknos recommend their Ferrex Aqua paint.
- Make sure the temperature of the air and surface is at least 10°C. The relative air humidity should be below 80%.
- Drying times will vary according to conditions – lower air humidity and temperatures exceeding 21°C will result in faster drying, as well ventilation after the paint has been applied.
Application
- Stir the paint thoroughly before use.
- Use on a test area if possible.
- This product can be thinned with water up to 5-15% of the tin’s volume when needed according to the technical data sheet, which you can find attached.
- Apply 1-2 coats with a brush, roller, pad or spray.
- When painting a smooth surface, use a painting pad or varnish brush to smooth out marks left by a roller.
- If applying the paint by spraying use – Airless spray nozzle 0.011 – 0.013”.

- Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. Wear respiratory protection if spraying the product.
- Do not get in eyes, on skin or on clothing.
- IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do, and then continue rinsing.
- IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of water. Do not use solvent or thinners or white spirit.
- IF SWALLOWED: Call a POISON CENTRE or doctor if you feel unwell at all.

- Mixed paints are Non Returnable and Non Refundable. They are made to order, all colours are made using approved manufacturers materials and equipment.
- Due to varying screen resolutions, colour swatches shades can vary when mixed in to paint. We would recommend the purchase of a Tester Pot if you are unsure, this would give a more accurate reference of the colour, also looking at the shade in the home environment would give additional assurance as colours are influenced by there surroundings ( Metamorism ).
