Teknos Futura Aqua 5 Matt (5% Sheen) – White & Black

Description

Teknos Futura Aqua 5 – (5% Matt Sheen) – is a water borne very high quality paint suitable for interior or exterior use on to wood or metal. Ideal for wooden windows, doors, gates or metal substrates, the high opacity finish is also highly suited to painting kitchen cupboards and furniture. Teknos Futura Aqua 5 is a unique, tough formulation allows for easy application with good hold and durable lasting finish. Easy application and quick drying allows for 2 coats to be applied in a day increasing productivity.

Preparation

• Clean the surface to be painted and make sure it is free from any possible contaminants such as dust and dirt.
• Gently sand hard or gloss surfaces and remove any dust.
• Smooth out any irregularities in the surface.
• Teknos recommend using their Futura Aqua Primer to prime any wood and galvanised metal surfaces before applying the topcoat.
• Consider using anticorrosive paint to prepare and prime aluminium, copper, and any steel surfaces that contain some rust – Teknos recommend their Ferrex Aqua paint.
• Make sure the temperature of the air and surface is at least 10°C. Make sure that the relative air humidity is below 80%.
• Drying times will vary according to conditions – lower air humidity and temperatures exceeding 21°C will result in faster drying, as well ventilation after the paint has been applied.

Application

• Stir the paint thoroughly before use.
• Use on a test area if possible.
• This product can be thinned with water up to 5-15% of the tin’s volume when needed according to the technical data sheet, which you can find attached.
• Apply 1-2 coats with a brush, roller, pad or spray.
• When painting a smooth surface you can use a painting pad or varnish brush to smooth out marks left by a roller.
• If applying the paint by spraying use – Airless spray nozzle 0.011 – 0.013”.

• Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. Wear respiratory protection if spraying the product.
• Do not get in eyes, on skin or on clothing.
• IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do, and then continue rinsing.
• IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of water. Do not use solvent or thinners or white spirit.
• IF SWALLOWED: Call a POISON CENTRE or doctor if you feel unwell at all.
