Description
Teknos Futura Aqua Primer 3 is a water-borne full matt adhesion promoting primer excellent for interior or exterior wood and metal. Suitable primer for wooden windows, doors, an excellent choice of primer for use under Futura Aqua Top coat. A high opacity, easy sand and quick drying primer suitable for brush, roller or spray applications.
Indoors Teknos Futura Aqua Primer is suitable as an adhesion primer for a wide array of surfaces, including wood, metal and building board surfaces: doors, window casements, cabinets, mouldings, panels, panel ceilings, air ducts, staircase railings, radiators and piping systems. Teknos Futura Aqua Primer is also suitable for priming plaster and filler surfaces, for example window sills and casings, and wall surfaces in special objects, e.g. staircases.
Outdoors Teknos Futura Aqua Primer is ideal for priming window casements, doors, garden furniture, and more.
Surface Preparation
- Clean new surfaces from dust and dirt.
- Wash previously painted surfaces with RENSA SUPER paint cleaner.
- Matt down hard or gloss surfaces by sanding and thereafter remove the dust.
- Smooth any irregularities in the surface with SILORA A carpentry filler.
Application
- Stir thoroughly before use.
- Apply the paint once or twice with a varnish brush, mohair roller, painting pad or spray.
- When painting a smooth surface, e.g. flush door, the marks left by a roller may be smoothed down with painting pad or with varnish brush.
- Suitable airless nozzle size 0.011 – 0.013″.
Application Conditions
- The surface to be treated has to be dry.
- During the application and drying period the temperature of the ambient air, the surface and the product shall be above +10°C and the relative air humidity below 80%.
- Drying is faster in low air humidity and/or above +21°C.
- Application will be easier if air is humidified and/or temperature is lowered in the working space.
- Ventilation after the painting will quicken the drying.
Drying times
- The drying times will vary as influenced by different surface attributes, humidity, temperature and ventilation.
- The following drying times were determined at 23°C and 50% relative humidity:
- Dust free: after 1 hour
- Dry to overcoat: after 6 hours.
- Final hardness and durability: Approx. 1 month.
- The drying time may be extended by cold and/or damp conditions.
Safety Information

- Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. Wear respiratory protection if spraying the product.
- Do not get in eyes, on skin or on clothing.
- IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do, and then continue rinsing.
- IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of water. Do not use solvent or thinners or white spirit.
- IF SWALLOWED: Call a POISON CENTRE or doctor if you feel unwell at all.
