Description
Toupret Glazing Putty is a natural shade linseed oil putty for glazing on traditional wooden window frames. Suitable for interior or exterior use.
Substrates
- Glazing Putty can be applied to any types of woods, including common exotic species, and all primed wood.
- The substrate must be previously primed.
- Do not use for double glazing fitting.
- Glazing Putty can be overcoated with paint, varnish or preservative coat once a skin has formed.
Physical and Technical Features
- Linseed oil based putty, for interior or exterior use.
- Mixing rate: ready to use.
- Coverage: 6m per kg.
- Overcoating: painted/overcoated once a skin has formed (6 to 8 days).
- Colour: White.
Use and Storage Conditions
- The times mentioned are indicative and depend on the substrate, coat thickness, and the ambient conditions.
- Do not apply at a temperature below 5°C or above 35°C nor at a relative humidity over 80%.
- Substrates to be prepared as per the current trade practices.
- Substrates must be hard, cohesive, clean, sound and dry.
- Application tools: for putty and back putty, apply with a putty knife, for single glazing, glass from 4 to 6mm thick.
- The minimum thickness of the back putty must be 3mm, the minimum length of the fillet must be 9mm.
- Tool cleaning: after use, clean tools with white spirit.
- Preservation: Stored away from sunlight and frost.
Health and Safety
- It is recommended to wear gloves and glasses while applying Toupret Glazing Putty.
- Always wear a dust mask when sanding.
- Dispose of unused product and packaging responsibly at your local waste collection centre.
