Description
Treatex Anti Slip Transparent Decking Oil is designed to minimise the risk of slipping on exterior wood surfaces. Perfect for treated or untreated decking, steps and wooden walkways – all of which are susceptible to build-ups of moisture, moss and algae, making them potentially hazardous.
Free from solvents and other toxic substances, and safe for use on children’s toys – Treatex Anti Slip Transparent Decking Oil is manufactured on a base of natural sustainable raw materials including Sunflower oil and Soybean oil.
Preparation
- Ensure the timber is sound, clean, dry and free from any possible contaminates such as algae, grease, dirt, and dust.
- We recommend ensuring you purchase sufficient product to complete the whole project.
- If you require more than one tin then mix them together before use for best results.
- Ensure the timber has a moisture content below 18% and the ambient temperature is greater than 8o°C/<60% humidity during application and drying.
- Anti Slip Decking Oil has different effects on different surfaces. We strongly advise a trial coat.
Application
- Stir tins thoroughly, before and during use.
- Use a brush or roller to evenly apply the Decking Oil, allowing approximately 100-165ml per square metre.
- In corrugated timber, consumption may double, due to the increase in surface area.Â
- After approximately 8-12 hours (avoid moisture exposure during this time) the first coat can be overcoated if required.
- Apply with a brush or roller a second coat of Anti Slip Decking Oil, again allowing roughly 100-165ml per square metre.
- After the second coat leave for approximately 8-12 hours to dry.
- The surface can then be used after 24 hours of drying with care.
- Full hardness will be achieved after 10 days.
