Description

Zeroflame Fire Retardant Treatment for wood is a waterborne clear penetrating treatment for solid timber for use internally or external. Once applied and dry it leaves the natural colour of the timber unchanged. It does require over treating with stain, varnish or approved paint finishes and will last the lifetime of the wood. Zeroflame fire retardant for wood achieves BS Class 0 and Euroclass B fire propagation and spread of flame fire protection on solid timbers.

  • For solid timber
  • Externally – log cabins, timber cladding, fencing, garages, sheds, saunas, etc.
  • Internally – timber ceilings, wall panelling, tongue & groove, staircases, floors, etc
  • Commercial and domestic environments

Directions for Use:

Substrate

  • Check the surface is absorbent and has not been previously sealed by other coatings.
  • The substrate must be absorbent.
  • It is possible to apply to previously painted or varnished wood if removed completely by sanding back to the original surface.

Application

  • Use as supplied. Do not dilute.
  • Test on a small area first to ensure finish is acceptable
  • Apply 250ml per square metre (4m² per litre) to all surfaces by using immersion, spray, brush or roller
  • Ambient temperature is above 10°C
  • Moisture content of wood should be below 15%
  • This product is classed as non-hazardous. The use of eyewear, gloves and mask is good practice and recommended
  • Clean tools and overspill with absorbent paper and water
  • Drying Times: 6-12 hours at +20°C & 65% RH.
  • When applied externally, protect from the elements and allow to dry for 24-48 hours.
