Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 – White & Grey – Primer-Sealer Stain Killer

Description

Zinsser Bulls Eye 123 is a universal water based primer, sealer suitable for interior or exterior use. It offers a low odour application, quick drying convenience and excellent adhesion. Bulls Eye 123 effectively primes and seals a wide variety of surfaces, a bond coat primer that is great for hard to stick to surfaces, offering superb adhesion without the need for sanding. Bulls Eye 123 prevents rust when applied over clean ferrous metal such as iron or steel.

Zinsser Bulls Eye will protect the dry coating from fungal attack with the help of specialist biocides which makes it ideal for use in areas of high humidity such as bathrooms and kitchens.

Preparation

• Surfaces should be sound, clean, dry, and free of dust, dirt, excessive chalky material, grime, grease, oil, wax, mildew, wallpaper, adhesive or any contamination that may interfere with adhesion.
• If unsure, always wash surface with an appropriate ammoniated cleaning solution or solvent (do not use trisodium phosphate based cleaners).
• Remove any peeling and/or unsound coatings. Sand any remaining paint film edges smooth.
• Lightly sand exposed exterior wood with 80 to 100 grit sandpaper to remove loose or weathered wood fibres and mill glaze.
• When priming over stained areas, first attempt to remove as much of the stain as possible by washing, sanding, scraping, etc.
• Remove interior mildew with an interior mildew cleaner, such as Zinsser Mould Killer & Remover. Allow surface to dry completely before priming.
• Countersink exposed nail heads, spot-prime and fill all nail holes and gouges.
• Wire brush rusty areas.
• Spot prime knots and sap streaks with Zinsser B-I-N Primer-Sealer before whole surface priming with Bulls Eye 1-2-3.

Application

• Ready to use – no dilution necessary.
• In most cases only one coat is necessary. Porous surfaces may require two coats to properly seal. Prime entire surface for best results.
• If thinning is necessary add no more than 10 % clean water and stir thoroughly. Note that thinning the primer may affect its stain blocking properties.
